Jaipuri Block Printed Cotton Table Cloth (6 seater). Rajasthan has a long and distinguished tradition of printing with finely carved wooden blocks. These Blocks are generally carved with Motifs of various designs that emerge as the final print on the fabric. This method, though laborious, is actually quite simple and merely calls for precision. The cloth is laid out flat on a table or bench and a freshly dipped block is hand-pressed on to the fabric to form a continuous, interlocking pattern. Traditionally, Block-Printing relies on the use of natural dyes and pigments. The floral motifs favoured by the printers of these regions are Persian in origin.
