Andhra Pradesh

There are references to the existence of Andhra Pradesh in Vedic writings, but definitive historical evidence records it from the late 4th century BCE with the Mauryans. Ruled by multiple dynasties through the centuries, including the Deccan Sultanates and the Mughals, the state assimilated multiple influences making for a rich cultural heritage. Bihar

References to the existence of Bihar are mentioned in religious texts and epics of ancient India. Magadha, the ancient name for a part of the land was the centre of Indian power, learning and culture for about a thousand years. The region was an important political, military and economic centre of Indian civilisation during the ancient and classical periods of Indian history. Delhi has a long history, and has been an important political centre of India for a succession of mighty empires and powerful kingdoms from the Rajputs to the Delhi Sultanate and the Mughals making Delhi one of the longest-serving capitals and one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world. The capital of art, craft and culture, Delhi has been at the epicenter of evolving historical and cultural influences over the centuries. The ensuing heritage of craft that has been left behind as a legacy, still finds expression in a number of exquisite art and craft forms, encouraged and hailed as an important aspect of the culture and tradition of this historical and beautiful city.

Gujarat

The earliest archaeological traces of ancient Gujarat can be found in the historical relics of the Indus Valley civilization. Gujarat was always an important naval trading post of strategic importance during the Maurya and Gupta periods, and has subsequently seen multiple cultural and historical influences through the centuries including those from the Greeks, the Mughals and the Marathas as well. Uttarakhand

Breathtakingly beautiful and pristine Uttarakhand, located in the foothills of the Himalayas, finds mention in ancient Hindu scriptures and is often called the ‘Land of the Gods’ with its abundance of places of worship and shrines. People of the state are broadly better recognized as Kumaonis and Garhwalis based on the region they hail from.
