    Rajasthani Wood Craft

    The availability of a wide variety of wood enabled the flourishing of several distinctive wood crafts and styles. Gujarat and Rajasthan have a rich heritage of hand painted wood furniture. The Wooden Curios are an offshoot of the furniture painting craft from these states. The traditional distinctive feature of this craft is generally the use of bright colours and motifs. In terms of technique, artisans continue to work with simple tools and traditional techniques that lend a unique flavor to their products. Crafted by local artisans, mostly using MDF Nuwood these days, the craft still has a lovely, vibrant and rustic appeal of its own.
